The most overlooked part of the bakery vacuum

At the end of a bakery production shift, sanitation teams often empty the vacuum, inspect the filter, check the collection bag and return the machine to storage.

The floor brush, however, may still contain flour, dough, seeds, fibres, oils, moisture and allergen residues collected from multiple areas.

Because the brush is the vacuum's first point of contact with the floor, its condition directly affects whether debris is lifted into the vacuum or pushed through the production environment.

A high-quality filter protects the vacuum's exhaust stream. It does not automatically make a contaminated attachment hygienic.

HEPA filtration is important—but it is not the entire safety assessment

HEPA filtration is designed to control fine particles within the vacuum's filtered airflow. It does not by itself establish that a vacuum is suitable for every flour-dust application, combustible-dust environment, allergen-control program or wet-cleaning task.
